Choosing A Wedding Date

Before choosing a wedding date, consult with both sets of parents to make sure that there are no conflicting engagements.

This is especially important if you are marrying someone who is of another culture or religion. The Chinese believe that the wedding date has to be chosen carefully in order to avoid all the unforseen bad luck in life.

When choosing a wedding date, narrow down your options by considering dates that are symbolic to you. This adds a sentimental touch to your wedding, making it just a little more special. Consider anniversaries, auspicious dates relating to your cultural background, etc.

You may also need to consider the right season for your wedding because it greatly influences the style of the wedding. The months of November and December bring in more rainfall compared to other months, which is important to consider if you plan to have an outdoor wedding.
